Tiffany Lock

A bangle drawn as the elongated shackle of a padlock, whose clasp swivels and clicks shut like the lock it imitates.

Literal hardware, faithfully copied, is what joins them. The nut on Écrou de Cartier keeps its six flat faces and its thread, and nothing but the metal has changed since it left the workshop. Tiffany Lock does the same with the padlock, stretching its shackle into a bangle and giving it a clasp that swivels and clicks like the real thing. Cartier showed Écrou in March 2017; Tiffany introduced Lock in August 2022, with a padlock brooch of 1883 in its archive as precedent.
