Jack de Boucheron
A supple gold cable closed by a faceted clasp shaped like an audio jack, wrapped once or three times round the wrist or opened out as a necklace or belt.
Force 10
A length of braided steel marine cable closed by a gold shackle, named after a storm on the Beaufort scale.
In 1966 Henri Samuel borrowed the braided steel that holds up a mast and fastened it with a gold shackle; he named the result Force 10, after a storm. Claire Choisne, designing Jack de Boucheron in 2019, borrowed the supple cord of headphones, hid its connection in a faceted clasp shaped like an audio jack and let the gold wrap the wrist once or three times. Fifty-three years apart, both made a cable the whole jewel and finished it to a jeweller's polish.
