Quatre

Four bands, each carrying one archive motif (grosgrain ribbing, a line of diamonds, Clou de Paris facets, a double gadroon) pressed together into a single ring.

Marrakech

Marco Bicego

Marrakech

Fine 18k gold wire wound into tight springy coils, gathered into strands that flex and drape against the wrist and throat like fabric.

Four separate bands joined by pressure alone make up Quatre, Boucheron's ring of 2004, nearly fourteen grams of gold carrying grosgrain, diamonds, Clou de Paris facets and a gadroon side by side. Marrakech is built from one gesture repeated thousands of times. Fine yellow gold wire is wound by hand into springy coils, a technique Marco Bicego learned in the chain workshop his father opened in Trissino in 1958, and the strands drape like fabric.
