Marrakech

Marco Bicego

Marrakech

Fine 18k gold wire wound into tight springy coils, gathered into strands that flex and drape against the wrist and throat like fabric.

Some fifty feet of gold wire went into the first piece of David Yurman's Cable Collection in 1982, twisted into a helix and bent into a cuff with pink tourmaline and emerald at its ends. Marrakech also begins as wire, much finer, wound by hand into small springs and massed into strands that hang like fabric, a technique Marco Bicego carried over from his father's chain workshop in Trissino.
