Yellow and white gold engraved with thousands of hair-fine parallel rigato lines that catch light like silk moiré, starred with diamonds set in tiny rosettes.

Tubogas

A band of gold wound tightly round itself like the flexible pipe of a gas line, tubo gas, so it springs round the wrist or neck without a hinge.

Gianmaria Buccellati named Macri after his daughter Maria Cristina, joining the first syllables of her two names. Its surface is rigato, thousands of hair-fine parallel lines cut by hand with a chisel, catching light like silk moiré, with small diamonds set among them. Tubogas gets its lines from construction rather than from the engraver: Bulgari's gold band, wound tightly round itself since 1941, shows a ridge for every turn. In Macri a hand cuts the lines into the gold; in Tubogas the lines are what the gold became.
