Opera

The Buccellati emblem, a four-petalled rosette of winding lines, cut out and worn as the jewel itself: in engraved gold, in diamond pavé, or laid over a pierced tulle lattice.

Giardino

A four-petalled flower in openwork gold with a lace edge, set with one stone at its heart, taken from the gardens of Isola Madre on Lake Maggiore.

Northern Italy feeds both, though one arrives by way of Paris. Mellerio, a Paris house with Italian roots, took Giardino from the half-wild garden of Isola Madre on Lake Maggiore: a four-petalled openwork flower with a lace edge, a ruby, tsavorite or pink sapphire at its heart. Buccellati, from Milan, presented Opera in Paris in 2015, cutting out its own rosette emblem and setting it in engraved gold, diamonds, sapphires and emeralds.
