Parentesi

A bracket-shaped gold link, repeated and locked into necklaces and bracelets like the joints between Roman paving stones.

Tiffany HardWear

A chain of oversized gauge links, each joined by a polished gold ball, takes the look of industrial hardware and wears it at the throat and wrist.

Rome is read into one chain and Manhattan into the other. Bulgari's Parentesi, from 1982, recalls the city underfoot: interlocking bracket links like the joints of travertine paving. Tiffany HardWear, launched in 2017 from a bracelet in the house archive, is presented as New York, raw and mechanical, its oversized gauge links joined by polished gold balls. Gianni Bulgari found his link in a doodle of brackets during a meeting; Tiffany found its own in industrial chain, sized up for the throat and wrist.
