Jeux de Rubans

Ribbons of pavé white gold or plain pink gold loop and cross behind a single Akoya pearl, as if a present had just been tied.

Since 1977 Chaumet has folded a single ribbon of gold into an X, first on the Liens d'Or wedding ring and later in diamond bangles and engraved medals. Mikimoto's ribbons, in Jeux de Rubans, run loose and crossing behind a round Akoya pearl, as if a gift had just been tied, in diamond-set white gold or bare pink gold. Paris makes the ribbon an emblem of two people bound together. Tokyo lets it frame a pearl.
