Lily Cluster

Interlacing petals of small pavé-set round diamonds, accented with a single marquise, form a lily caught mid-bloom.

Hand-setting small diamonds on gold is the craft here, but the models differ. Harry Winston's Lily Cluster, launched in 2010 from drawings of the early 1940s, curls pavé petals around a single marquise, a lily caught opening. Chopard's Precious Lace borrows from the lacemaker: scallops, volutes and swirls of openwork, first as diamond parures in 2016 and now a smaller line the house places between fine and high jewelry. The lily keeps a botanist's outline, the lace a seamstress's edge.
