The cable's round twist pressed into low relief, so the helix becomes a row of polished gold waves laid side by side.
Cable, David Yurman's design of 1982, twisted strands round each other, and in 2023 Sculpted Cable flattened that twist into low relief, a row of broad polished waves. De Grisogono's Allegra, from 2003, kept its spirals fine and loose, several thin rings wound together on the finger. Both start from the helix and take it in opposite directions. Yurman made the motif heavier and calmer. Fawaz Gruosi made his lighter and more restless, the rings never quite aligned.
