Two gold half-rings that hook into each other like handcuffs, so the clasp becomes the whole jewel.

Tiffany Lock

A bangle drawn as the elongated shackle of a padlock, whose clasp swivels and clicks shut like the lock it imitates.

Love has long borrowed the hardware of restraint, and these two take its plainest images, the handcuff and the padlock. Menottes, from 1976, keeps the gesture small, two gold half-rings hooked together, worn on a cord or a chain and sized for everyone from a baby to a grown man. Tiffany Lock, launched in 2022 and presented as all-gender, enlarges the padlock's shackle into a bangle with a swivelling clasp that clicks shut. Jean Dinh Van hangs the lock from the body. Tiffany wraps the body in it.
