Ice Cube

A band divided into small gold cubes with chamfered edges, so light breaks across it like ice.

Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff

A cuff modelled on the bones of the wrist, its edges rolled and its surface dipped, so the metal reads as anatomy rather than ornament.

Elsa Peretti's Bone Cuff is all curve: rolled edges, a dipped surface, a shape cast to follow the wrist since she drew it in 1970. Ice Cube, launched by Chopard in 1999, has hardly a curve on it beyond the circle of the band, which breaks into small gold blocks with chamfered corners. The Geneva house calls its design androgynous and sells it as thin bands meant to be worn several at once. Peretti's cuff is one sculpted object, made in separate versions for the left and the right arm.
