Africa

Slightly lopsided beads of 18k yellow gold, each scored by hand with a burin into thousands of fine lines, strung in graduated rows so the satin surface glows rather than shines.

Abbraccio

Vhernier

Abbraccio

A ring named for an embrace, one of the first shapes Vhernier made, offered in plain gold or entirely paved with diamonds held by two prongs each.

Yellow gold is Marco Bicego's material and the one colour Vhernier never uses. Africa shows the first at its most worked, rounded beads scored by hand with a burin into thousands of fine lines, graded along the strand and sometimes paved with diamonds in Africa Alta. Abbraccio shows the second house's restraint: one of its first rings, in rose or white gold, either left plain or paved with 572 diamonds in two-prong settings.
