Mellerio

Giardino

A four-petalled flower in openwork gold with a lace edge, set with one stone at its heart, taken from the gardens of Isola Madre on Lake Maggiore.

Frivole

Van Cleef & Arpels

Frivole

A flower of heart-shaped petals in gold polished to a mirror, so smooth the bare metal throws light like a stone.

Each petal of Frivole is shaped like a heart; each petal of Giardino is edged like lace. Van Cleef & Arpels polishes its gold to a mirror and, since launching the collection in 2003, has even set the blossoms on a Between the Finger ring. Mellerio pierces its gold and sets a coloured stone in the middle, a flower from the gardens of Isola Madre, by Laure-Isabelle Mellerio. Both are flowers in rose or yellow gold sized for every day, Frivole reflective and solid, Giardino open and coloured.
