Piaget

Piaget Rose

A rose in layered gold petals, modelled on the 80-petal rose named after Yves Piaget, with a diamond at its heart.

Frivole

Van Cleef & Arpels

Frivole

A flower of heart-shaped petals in gold polished to a mirror, so smooth the bare metal throws light like a stone.

Polished or sculpted, gold petals make up each flower. The Frivole collection, launched by Van Cleef & Arpels in 2003, uses heart-shaped petals of bare gold, mirror-bright from hand polishing. Piaget Rose, from 2012, layers its petals into the full cup of the rose named for Yves Piaget, sometimes plain, sometimes paved with diamonds. Frivole turns a petal into a sign. Piaget turns it back into botany, modelled in relief.
