Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff

A cuff modelled on the bones of the wrist, its edges rolled and its surface dipped, so the metal reads as anatomy rather than ornament.

An open curve of gold lies on the wrist in both cases, though the lines come from different worlds. Pomellato's Fantina, from 2020, comes from the riding world behind the house's name, which means dappled; its rose-gold bangle tapers to two points, with pavé along the inner edge. Elsa Peretti's Bone Cuff, drawn in 1970, follows the wrist's own bones, its edges rolled rather than pointed. Fantina is a line; Peretti's cuff is a volume, sitting on the arm like a cast.
