Bouton d'or

Little discs of gold, each with a stone at its centre, massed in rows and rings like the head of a buttercup.

Calla

One smooth cone, furled like a calla lily, hung alone on a necklace whose clasp disappears.

Bouton d'or crowds its gold: little polished discs, each centred on a stone of chrysoprase, onyx, carnelian or diamond, gathered into rows and rings like a buttercup, a 1936 Van Cleef & Arpels motif revived in 2016. Calla gives its gold room. Vhernier hangs a single furled cone alone on its chain, smooth and unset in the original version of 1998, later also cut in ebony.
