Ice Cube

A band divided into small gold cubes with chamfered edges, so light breaks across it like ice.

Berbère

Parallel rows of gold joined into a single ring, so one piece looks like a stack of bands.

Separate rings worn together, or one ring that looks like several: Ice Cube and Berbère approach the stack from opposite sides. Chopard makes its 1999 cube bands thin enough to pile up in three golds. Gaia Repossi fuses the rows in advance, so a Berbère ring of two, three or more lines is a single object. Chopard cuts its surface into small blocks. Repossi leaves her rows smooth or paves them, taking the name from Berber jewelry and the spareness from modern art.
