Tubogas

A band of gold wound tightly round itself like the flexible pipe of a gas line, tubo gas, so it springs round the wrist or neck without a hinge.

Antifer four-row ring in pink gold, each row rising to a point, on a light grey ground.

Antifer

A band with one sharp peak, named after a Normandy cliff, repeated row on row until the ring becomes a ridge.

A cliff and a gas pipe lie behind these. Gaia Repossi named Antifer in 2013 after a headland on the Normandy coast, and its single sharp peak, repeated row on row, turns a ring into a ridge. Bulgari's Tubogas is ridged too, but softly: the band is wound on itself until the coil is supple enough to spring round a wrist. Repossi first offered her ring as an alternative to the wedding band. The Roman coil went on to carry the first Serpenti watches, in 1948.
