The Cable Collection or Antifer
David Yurman · Repossi
The Cable Collection
Strands of metal twisted into a helix and bent into an open cuff, its two ends capped with gold and a coloured stone.
Antifer
A band with one sharp peak, named after a Normandy cliff, repeated row on row until the ring becomes a ridge.
Antifer was first meant to stand in for a wedding band: Gaia Repossi's 2013 ring of single peaks, repeated in rows. Cable began with a change to an earlier bracelet, when David Yurman twisted the parallel wires of his Starlight design in 1982 and found the helix that became his house's motif. Repossi's ring is sharp and architectural, in pink, white or black gold. Yurman's cuff is round in section and wraps the wrist like rope, with coloured stones at its ends.
