Solitaire 1895

One stone raised on four claws above a plain band, the house's barest answer to the engagement ring.

Albion

One generous coloured stone cut as a soft-cornered cushion, held in a slim bezel and often ringed with pavé diamonds.

David Yurman's Albion is built around colour: a generous cushion of blue topaz, citrine, amethyst or malachite in a slim bezel, often ringed with pavé, with the house cable twisted into a split shank. Cartier's Solitaire 1895 offers coloured stones too, sapphire, ruby or emerald, but in the strictest arrangement, four claws above a plain band. Albion wraps its stone and decorates the shank, and the Paris ring leaves both bare, so the stone does all the talking.
