Albion

One generous coloured stone cut as a soft-cornered cushion, held in a slim bezel and often ringed with pavé diamonds.

Serti sur Vide ring in white gold: two open bands joined by a short bar, with a pear-cut diamond held above them, on a light grey ground.

Serti sur Vide

A diamond held on a hidden bar so it seems to hover above the finger or the ear, with nothing visible beneath it.

A bezel hugs a stone's edge; Serti sur Vide hides every point of contact. Albion shows its slim bezel round a cushion of colour, often with a halo of pavé and, on rings, a split shank of the cable David Yurman made his signature. Repossi's stone rests on a concealed structure instead, so it seems to float above the finger or the ear. Yurman's stones come in silver as well as gold, from blue topaz to malachite; Repossi's run from a single pear diamond to emeralds and rubies.
