Precious Lace

Diamonds set in scalloped gold openwork that reads like antique lace, cut into tutu ruffles, waves and hearts.

Piaget Rose

A rose in layered gold petals, modelled on the 80-petal rose named after Yves Piaget, with a diamond at its heart.

Geneva is home to both houses, and rose gold to both pieces. Piaget Rose, from 2012, sculpts layered petals after the 80-petal rose bred by Meilland and named in 1982 for Yves Piaget, a lifelong grower; some petals are plain, some paved edge to edge. Chopard's Precious Lace, four years later, cuts the gold into openwork scallops and lets diamonds trace the pattern of antique lace. The rose is modelled in relief, the lace pierced through.
