Mimosa

The mimosa, a shrub that flowers whatever the weather, made into a diamond flower and dedicated to women.

Van Cleef & Arpels

Bouton d'or

Little discs of gold, each with a stone at its centre, massed in rows and rings like the head of a buttercup.

Yellow flowers both, though only one is shown in yellow. Van Cleef & Arpels' Bouton d'or, the buttercup, masses polished yellow-gold discs with a stone at each centre, a 1936 motif revived in 2016. Damiani's Mimosa, named for a shrub with famously yellow blossoms, is made in white gold and diamonds, a dedication from Damiano Grassi Damiani to his wife and daughter. The French piece quotes the colour of its flower; the Italian piece keeps only its meaning.
