The Cable Collection at David Yurman

The story

In 1982 David Yurman, trained as a direct-welding sculptor, gave a twist to the parallel wires of his Starlight bracelet and shaped some fifty feet of gold wire into the first Cable piece, with pink tourmaline and emerald end caps. He has cited the ancient torques at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as a reference. The helix moved into sterling silver with gold and became the house's constant motif.

    Sculpted Cable, David Yurman (2023)

Forty years on, the round helix is pressed into low relief, a row of polished gold waves laid side by side.

  • Albion ring in 18k yellow gold, 11 mm: a cushion-cut Hampton blue topaz in a frame of pavé diamonds on a split cable shank, on a white ground.

    Albion, David Yurman

Albion twists the house cable into a split shank beneath one generous cushion of colour.
