Allegra

Thin rings spiralled together so they look randomly stacked: one jewel that reads as many, wound around each other.

Africa

Slightly lopsided beads of 18k yellow gold, each scored by hand with a burin into thousands of fine lines, strung in graduated rows so the satin surface glows rather than shines.

Named after Fawaz Gruosi's first-born daughter, Allegra became de Grisogono's emblem after 2003: thin rings of rose or white gold spiralled together so that one jewel looks like a loose stack, a figure for two lives wound round each other. The line is historical now. Africa, by contrast, keeps growing, adding pearls and coloured stones in Africa Gemstones and diamond-paved beads in Africa Alta around its core of hand-engraved yellow-gold beads.
