Africa

Slightly lopsided beads of 18k yellow gold, each scored by hand with a burin into thousands of fine lines, strung in graduated rows so the satin surface glows rather than shines.

Antifer four-row ring in pink gold, each row rising to a point, on a light grey ground.

Antifer

A band with one sharp peak, named after a Normandy cliff, repeated row on row until the ring becomes a ridge.

One sharp peak, borrowed from a cliff on the Normandy coast, defines Antifer, which Gaia Repossi drew in 2013 as an alternative to the wedding band and has since multiplied into rows of two, four, eight and ten. Africa has no edges at all. Its beads are rounded, slightly lopsided by design, and scored all over with a burin, so Marco Bicego's yellow gold reads as a continuous texture rather than a line.
