Piaget Rose

A rose in layered gold petals, modelled on the 80-petal rose named after Yves Piaget, with a diamond at its heart.

Van Cleef & Arpels

Bouton d'or

Little discs of gold, each with a stone at its centre, massed in rows and rings like the head of a buttercup.

A rose of 1982 and a sequin of 1936 sit beneath these lines. Piaget Rose, from 2012, began with the bloom Meilland bred and named for Yves Piaget, now sculpted as layered petals in rose gold. Bouton d'or, from 2016, began with a Van Cleef & Arpels motif of small gold discs with a stone in the middle, massed like a buttercup's head. The rose is built from overlapping petals, the buttercup from separate round discs that glint like sequins on an evening dress.
