LOVE

A rigid oval of gold closed by two working screws, so the bracelet goes on with a screwdriver and stays on.

Quatre is an anthology. Solange Azagury-Partridge built it for Boucheron in 2004 from four archive motifs, grosgrain ribbing, a line of diamonds, Clou de Paris facets and a double gadroon, each on its own band, the four pressed together without glue or solder into a ring of nearly 14 grams. LOVE is a single sentence. Aldo Cipullo drew it at Cartier New York in 1969, a gold oval closed by two screws, and the screw head has since travelled unchanged to rings, earrings and pendants.
