Quatre

Four bands, each carrying one archive motif (grosgrain ribbing, a line of diamonds, Clou de Paris facets, a double gadroon) pressed together into a single ring.

Berbère

Parallel rows of gold joined into a single ring, so one piece looks like a stack of bands.

Berbère's rows are identical; Quatre's bands are all different. Gaia Repossi fuses parallel lines of gold, bare or set with diamonds, into a single ring, the form that made her reputation at the family house after 2007. Boucheron's Quatre, designed in 2004, presses four distinct archive motifs together. Both look like stacks and both are single rings. Repossi draws on Berber jewelry and modern art; Quatre draws on a century and a half of a Paris house's own ornament.
