The story

Launched in 2014, Serti sur Vide, 'setting on emptiness', rethinks the solitaire: the stone sits on a concealed structure and floats above the skin. The house's president has said the idea came from Alberto Repossi and was handed to his daughter Gaia, who turned it into rings, ear cuffs, pendants and bracelets, from a single pear diamond to emeralds and rubies.

The Tiffany Setting, Tiffany & Co. (1886)

Repossi takes the stone lifted clear of the band to its limit and hides the setting, so the diamond hovers on nothing.
