Hawaii at Buccellati

The story

Mario Buccellati drew Hawaii in the 1930s from the flower garlands of the islands. Each small circle is made from fine gold thread twisted back on itself, filo ritorto, then enchained to its neighbours by hand. In 1990 Andrea Buccellati extended the necklaces into earrings and bracelets, and later versions add diamonds or interlace the gold with opal, chalcedony or jade.
