Ice Cube

A band divided into small gold cubes with chamfered edges, so light breaks across it like ice.

Africa

Slightly lopsided beads of 18k yellow gold, each scored by hand with a burin into thousands of fine lines, strung in graduated rows so the satin surface glows rather than shines.

Ice Cube breaks the light sharply, Africa softly. Chopard's band, launched in 1999, is divided into small gold cubes whose grooves are cut by diamond-tipped tools the house spent nearly ten years perfecting, with corners chamfered by hand. Marco Bicego's beads are rounded and slightly irregular, their yellow gold scored with a burin into thousands of fine lines that diffuse the light into a satin glow.
